About G2G Interpreting

At G2G, we are committed to providing exceptional American Sign Language interpreting services. Our mission is to serve the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community with tailored Deaf and Hard of Hearing services that meet their unique needs.

We only send professional interpreters who are certified and adhere to the Colorado Consumer Protection Act 6-1-707. We strive to match consumers with the interpreters, prioritizing their preferences, setting, and linguistic use.

Agency owner, Karen McCullah RID CI/CT, NAD IV, LCA#7616, has over 30 years of experience as an ASL interpreter, specializing in legal and medical interpreting, as well as coordinating and serving as the Director of Interpreting at multiple agencies and universities.

Onsite Interpreting

At G2G, we take pride in offering professional interpreters who specialize in American Sign Language interpreting. Our highly skilled ASL interpreters are dedicated to understanding and meeting the unique needs of our clients, including those requiring Deaf and Hard of Hearing services, throughout the state of Colorado and beyond. We can efficiently staff assignments in Northern Colorado, Front Range, Denver Metro, Colorado Springs, and even rural Colorado.

Video Remote Interpreting

We offer American Sign Language interpreting services remotely on video software platforms via customer-provided links, such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and Webex. This enables clients to access Deaf and Hard of Hearing services from anywhere in the world.

While video remote interpreting can be convenient, it is not always the best solution. Although it may address an immediate need, it cannot replace the expertise of professional interpreters onsite. It's important to ensure that internet speeds and bandwidth are sufficient for smooth video and audio clarity, as the effectiveness of this service can be highly dependent on the specific environment and setting.

Legal Interpreting

G2G can provide qualified legal interpreters, including those specializing in American Sign Language interpreting, who are either nationally certified or qualified by the Colorado State Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf Blind. Our Deaf and Hard of Hearing services cover various legal interpreting settings such as municipal court, probation, attorney-client meetings, law enforcement interviews and investigations, real estate closings, and school IEPs.

Medical/Mental Health Interpreting

Our professional interpreters are certified for medical interpreting and adhere to a national Code of Professional Conduct, which includes confidentiality. American Sign Language interpreting services are essential for providing effective communication for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and ASL interpreters are recognized as Business Associates under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

Certified Deaf Interpreters

G2G encourages the use of a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) whenever necessary to facilitate communication in American Sign Language interpreting. A CDI possesses extensive knowledge and understanding of deafness, the deaf community, and Deaf culture, which, combined with excellent communication skills, brings added expertise to both routine and uniquely challenging interpreting situations, especially in the realm of Deaf and Hard of Hearing services. (RID Standard Practice Papers, Use of a Certified Deaf Interpreter, 1997).

Educational, Vocational and Conference Interpreting

At G2G, we provide quality American Sign Language interpreting for any event. Whether it’s a conference, workshop, or social gathering, our skilled professional interpreters are trained to facilitate effective communication. We tailor our Deaf and Hard of Hearing services to meet the unique needs of each event, ensuring that everyone can participate fully and comfortably.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at g2ginterpreting@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The Americans with Disabilities Act requires that title II entities (State and local governments) and title III entities (businesses and nonprofit organizations that serve the public) communicate effectively with people who have communication disabilities. This includes providing a qualified sign language interpreter, oral interpreter, cued-speech interpreter, tactile interpreter, or real-time captioning.

Certified interpreters must pass a written and performance exam, as well as adhere to a Code of Professional Conduct that aligns with HIPAA and FERPA regulations. Nationally Certified interpreters are preferred, per Colorado Revised Statutes 6-1-707

The decision to use a team rather than an individual interpreter is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to:

* length and/or complexity of the assignment,

* unique needs of the persons being served,

* physical and emotional dynamics of the setting,

* avoidance of repetitive stress injuries (RSIs) for interpreters. (RID Standard Practice Paper, Team Interpreting)

Section 44 of the Internal Revenue Code, created specifically to help small businesses cover ADA-related “eligible access expenditures,” states businesses that for the previous tax year had either revenues of $1,000,000 or less or 30 or fewer full-time workers may take advantage of this credit. The credit can be used to cover a variety of expenditures, including provision of sign language interpreters for customers or employees. Ask your tax professional for more information.
